Great shop - very up front about what to expect, and appreciated there was no upselling of any work needed. They did a great inspection and identified some things to keep my eyes on in case they do cause a problem down the line. Nice to find a car repair place I know I can trust!

​I only write reviews for truly exceptional businesses, and Totem Lake Auto Care easily makes the list. After visiting 50 mechanical shops throughout my life, this spot is hands down the best I’ve ever been to or honestly even dreamt of finding. ​First off, their inspection was more detailed and effortless to review than anywhere else I've been (and I’ve traveled through what feels like 10,000 cities searching for a reliable mechanic). You can tell right away that they just get it, they can diagnose and fix any issue that comes up with your car. ​Customer service isn't a dealbreaker for me since I've been treated every way imaginable over the years, but the crew at Totem Lake Auto Care are some of the kindest, most genuine souls I’ve met. I even got side-tracked chatting with them about my next car purchase and what would fit my lifestyle best. ​At the end of the day, this is a fantastic shop run by skillfully trained superhumans who can fix virtually anything I'd imagine. If you live anywhere on the Eastside, bring your vehicle here anytime you need work done!

Earned My Trust Completely ​Finding an auto repair shop you can actually trust is incredibly difficult, but my recent experience with Totem Lake Auto Care completely earned mine. ​I brought my 2011 Hyundai Genesis in because the rear door power lock actuators were failing. Before coming here, I mistakenly took it to the Hyundai of Kirkland dealership. Not only was the dealership's estimate twice the price of Totem Lake Auto Care, but they also managed to make the problem worse. They failed to reconnect the rod linking the door lock switch to the internal mechanism, and when I called them out on it, they completely stonewalled me and denied any wrongdoing. ​Frustrated, I turned to Totem Lake Auto Care, and the contrast was night and day: ​- Honest & Cost-Conscious: The team was incredibly refreshing. Caleb and the team at Totem Lake Auto Care have offered probably my best car maintenance experience. They're very responsive and easy to book, you get timely updates when your car is in the shop, and I have complete trust that they are not trying to fudge problems to make more work or money. I've brought a few different vehicles through the shop over time and they're very helpful to let me know what work needs to be done more urgently or what I can wait on, prioritizing safety for the car and driving. I have recommended Totem Lake Auto Care to everyone who lives in this area.

I happen to be someone who values ethics so having my car worked on by an ethical business is very important to me. I have had my dealership tell me I need work that is unnecessary and they also overcharge so I decided to do some research for a shop near me and found that Totem Lake Auto Repair had a lot of 5* reviews so I gave them a chance. I could not be happier with how they assessed what I needed and didn't need, based on my car repair history and what they found. Caleb, the owner and Braydon who runs the front area are both delightful guys, very friendly, and very honest. I cannot recommend these guys enough. If they are close enough to you, please give them a shot by getting a diagnostic check from them before you make a choice for your repair. You won't be disappointed, guaranteed.
